How to Moderate Media

Content moderation refers to the process of monitoring content submissions and applying a set of governance rules which define what media is acceptable and what is not. These rules are derived by the customer as per their organizational goals and objectives. To learn more, see How to Enforce Content Moderation.

Note: Content moderation applies only to users in the Contributors group. If a user from the Content Manager group uploads media, it will not require moderation.

Prerequisites

  • Users must belong to a group with media moderation permissions enabled (e.g., Content Manager group).

View Pending Media Status

Users can view the status of their submitted media:

  1. Select your account icon in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Uploads.

Here you can see all the pending states of your media. To learn more, see How to View Uploaded Media.

If a user modifies a media file after it has been approved or rejected, it will need to be re-moderated.

Approve or Reject Media

  1. In VIDIZMO, select the Navigation menu.
  2. Go to Admin > Media Manager.
  3. Select the Review tab to view the list of media submitted for approval.
  4. Select the overflow menu (three dots) of the specific media.
  5. Select Approve or Reject.

After approval, a notification appears stating the media has been updated successfully. The newly approved media can be found in the Media Library.

Note: The same workflow applies for evidence submitted in a Digital Evidence Management portal. Evidence from users in the Contributors group can be reassigned, updated for metadata tags, given restrictions for downloads and access, and more by Moderators.

Approve or Reject Media in Bulk

VIDIZMO allows you to approve or reject multiple media files at once.

  1. In Media Manager, select the Review tab.
  2. Select the checkbox for each media file that needs to be approved or rejected.
  3. In the Actions pane at the bottom, select Approve or Reject.
